Commission Submits Findings

ULAA president Mydea Reeves watches commissioners as they report their findings in Baltimore.
“As we have always maintained, our camp is about peace and unity. Whatever the Liberian people will do to bring peace, unity and stability into our fragile community, we will be happy and are willing to cooperate for the common good of our people.
“For so long Liberians have bickered among themselves for minute things, on one hand; on the other, there are certain Liberians that continue to promote ethnicity, nepotism and corruption in our midst. We will not sit supinely to see these evils consume us as a group. The Glay-Zawolo camp’s only concern in the entire controversy has been the bogus elections that has produced Dave Garnett as leader of the illegitimate Liberian Communty Association, Inc. Resolution to this commotion could have been made if John Lloyd did not engage in playing games.
“It is a great idea to have Lloyd audited because we want to have his name cleared. He must therefore comply in the interest of the community and for his political future. Similarly, we are calling on all supporters and sympathizers of the Glay-Zawolo Camp and members of the community to comply with the recommendations of the fact-finding team and a decision to be made by the ULAA board shortly. As a former member of ULAA board, our camp will respect whatever decision they will take,” Glay asserts.

Dave Garnett and John Lloyd see those recommendations differently. Garnett told the conference that he was not invited to the hearing conducted in Beltsville, MD. When Leslie Cole, however, said the committee had communicated with Garnett via electronic mail and suggested to all parties to inform one another of the scheduled hearing, Garnett retorted that his Internet account had been deactivated.
Lloyd also admitted not participating at the hearing because he traveled to see his son who was said to be ill. In a move that caught participants with their pants down, Lloyd accused the Union of being illegal also. Lloyd was immediately restrained by the conference from making further comments.
